Leonardo DRS contracted to upgrade Flight Incident Recorder
The Boeing Company has chosen Leonardo DRS to develop upgraded Deployable Flight Incident Recorder Set (DFIRS) technology for new and in-service F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft. The contract will be executed by Kanata-based DRS Technologies Canada Ltd.

Ukraine to modernize public safety helicopter fleet
Airbus Helicopters signed a contract with the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior for the purchase of 55 civil helicopters destined for search and rescue (SAR), public services, and emergency medical service (EMS) missions. The fleet will include 21 repurposed H225s, and 10 brand new H145s and 24 H125. The contract also foresees the setting up of a local training and maintenance centre.

Airbus Helicopters delivers four H125s to NS
Airbus has delivered four H125 helicopters to Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources. The aircraft will help increase service capacity for a wide range of NSDNR missions including search and rescue, forestry programs, wildlife and geological surveys, as well as firefighting.
Airbus Helicopters delivers first H145s to Rega
Airbus Helicopters has delivered the first two of a total of six H145 helicopters to Swiss Air-Rescue Rega. These will replace Rega’s existing fleet of EC145 helicopters, which will be phased out by mid-2019. The first H145 helicopter is expected to be deployed at the Bern base in October.

The Fraser Institute, Institute for Research on Public Policy, Centre for International Governance Innovation, Canadian Global Affairs Institute, and the Macdonald-Laurier Institute have been identified by the University of Pennsylvania’s annual Think Tank Index Report as the top five in Canada.
Brazil orders more Airbus SAR aircraft
The solution ordered by Brazil is very similar to that of Canada. Brazil’s first C295 SAR aircraft toured three of Canada’s search and rescue bases in 2017. Accessing the contractual option for additional SAR-configured aircraft will bring its C295 fleet to 15 aircraft, with 12 transport-configured and 3 SAR-configured.
